About Karyn

Experience With Compassion Karyn  Palgut brings to Colorado Springs' west side community over 20 years of knowledge and expertise in the health and fitness industry.  She is a Certified Personal Trainer (AAAI/ISMA) and TRX Trainer with a B.S. in Physical Education: Sports Management from Florida State University.  She is also a two-time Olympian and former resident athlete at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Karyn went to FSU in 1981 on a volleyball scholarship after earning All-State honors in high school in volleyball, basketball, and softball.  She would prove she could do that at the highest level during her collegiate career becoming one of the Seminoles’ all-time greats earning an unprecedented 3 letters in 3 sports at the Div. I Level. Karyn’s amazing athletic skills continued after her FSU career when she began competing on the Women's Team Handball Team.  The team represented the United States in two Olympic Games and finished seventh in Seoul, Korea in 1988 and sixth in Barcelona, Spain in 1992.  Karyn’s most recent accomplishment was being inducted into the FSU Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2010. Of course, Karyn's athletic success did not come without its bumps and bruises.  She even experienced some major injuries with career ending implications.  Thanks to the superb medical staff at FSU and the OTC, she was able to overcome 2 shoulder surgeries and a total knee reconstruction, allowing her to return to full competition with no limitations, which she maintains to this day. Over the years, she has dedicated her life to taking her physical and mental abilities to the highest levels.  She has been most fortunate to be trained by some of the best trainers and coaches in the world.  She incorporates what she has learned with her personal experience into her SportFiTraining Programs. In addition to training adults, Karyn has had the privilege of training young athletes.  She has coached volleyball at both the collegiate (Colorado College) and high school (Cheyenne Mountain High School) levels.  She has trained young athletes to excel in sports such as volleyball, basketball, hockey, team handball, and tennis to name a few. She has adult programs that cater to people who want to improve their overall health and fitness, or anyone working on their golf or tennis game or other individualized sport.  She is passionate about educating and promoting a heart-healthy and attitude-happy community in Colorado Springs.
